A KEYNOTE WITH MENTOR DIDA

BEing
the Change.

Imagining a future worth living for, and discovering your part in creating it.

Who do I need to become to help create the world I want to live in?

THE QUESTION AT THE HEART OF THE KEYNOTE

FROM THE ASU CLASSROOM TO YOUR AUDIENCE

Rooted in BEing the Change at Arizona State University.

This keynote draws on the BEing the Change course I developed and teach at ASU’s College of Global Futures, and my work with changemakers around the world. It brings questions of identity, purpose, and action into an experience shaped around your audience.

A FUTURE WE CAN SEE OURSELVES IN

When you imagine the future,
do you see something worth looking forward to?

Can you see yourself helping create it?

In a world that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure where we belong, these questions matter. The stories we carry about ourselves, each other, and the world shape what we believe is possible, and whether we choose to act.

Through storytelling, reflection, and practical insights, I connect our inner lives with how we relate, lead, and contribute. We explore identity beyond titles and roles, question inherited stories that limit us, and recognize our connection to something larger than ourselves.

From that foundation, we imagine a future rooted in collective well-being, and begin expressing its values in how we live today.

BEING THE CHANGE IN EVERYDAY LIFE

The future takes shape
in ordinary moments.

The ideas become real in how we listen when we disagree, respond when we feel challenged, care for ourselves and others, and turn what matters to us into meaningful action.

A keynote can give people space to pause, see a familiar situation differently, and choose how they want to meet it. The balance of storytelling, reflection, and participation is shaped around your gathering.

What could you begin living today that belongs to the future you hope for?

WHO IT IS FOR

For people asking,
“Where do I go from here?”

Especially meaningful for audiences exploring purpose, navigating change, or looking for a more hopeful way to contribute.

Campuses & fellowships

Students, educators, and emerging leaders exploring who they are becoming and their place in a changing world.

Organizations & teams

CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION

More time to reflect.
More space to practice.

A companion workshop gives people time to explore their stories, clarify what matters, and develop a meaningful next step. We can combine formats around the needs of your audience.

Being the Change: Leadership from Within is a workshop for emerging leaders and teams navigating change, exploring who you give yourself permission to be, how you show up, and how to respond with intention.

FOR EVENT ORGANIZERS

Making the keynote
right for your audience.

What do you mean by “being the change”?

Living the qualities and values we hope to see in the world. It begins with who we give ourselves permission to be, how we relate to others, and how we respond to what life asks of us. Meaningful action grows from that way of being.

What is a changemaker?

In my work, a changemaker is someone who gives themselves permission to be the change: to be present, meet life with care, and respond rather than react. It is a possibility available to everyone, beginning with how we choose to be.

How does the keynote relate to the ASU course?

It draws on the questions about identity, purpose, and action at the heart of the BEing the Change course I developed and teach at ASU’s College of Global Futures. The course explores these ideas over time; the keynote brings them into a focused experience for your gathering.

Is this a keynote or a workshop?

This page introduces the keynote. It typically runs from 30 to 120 minutes, depending on the depth of reflection and participation. A companion workshop can create more time for dialogue and practice.

How is it tailored to our audience?

The Journey Consulting methodology guides the design. We discover who is coming and what they are navigating, then shape the stories, questions, and participation around the experience you want to create.

Can this be delivered online?

Yes. The rhythm and forms of participation are adapted for people joining on screen. We can discuss an online, in-person, or hybrid experience around your event. From November 2026 through April 2027 I am not travelling.
